Dhahran High School
Dhahran High School was organized in 1999. DHS offers an American based curriculum that was tailored to meet the needs of international students in grades 9 through 12.
Dhahran High School is located in Dhahran adjacent to the American Consulate for the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. This site is in close proximity to the commercial and government centers of Al-Khobar and Dammam, the Royal Saudi Air Base, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, and Saudi Aramco Oil Company.
The core academic program includes college preparatory math, science, social studies, language arts, and physical education. Nine advanced placement courses are available. A wide range of elective courses are offered including drama, media arts, instrumental music, general music, art, photography, computer programming and literacy, and psychology. Students also have the opportunity to study French, Spanish, and Arabic languages. DHS provides extensive opportunities for after-school activities. Activities such as Model United Nations, Honor band and choir, drama, Habitat for Humanity, soccer, basketball, volleyball, and various clubs revolving around different student interests.
