Curriculum

American Division

The American division schools (Dhahran Elementary/Middle School, Dhahran High School, ISG Jubail (Grades 7 – 9), and Yanbu International School) follow a typical American curriculum, inclusive of courses in English/language arts, social studies, science, and mathematics. Additionally, electives are offered at each site. These include art, photography, instrumental music, choral music, AP classes, technology, and physical education. Global languages offered are French, Arabic, and Spanish. The philosophy, program and learner outcomes developed in curricular areas are similar to those found in schools in the United States. International Division

The International division schools (ISG Bqaiq and ISG Dammam) follow a curriculum model that includes components of an American curriculum as well as those from other countries. Core courses include English/language arts, social studies, science, and mathematics. Additionally, students may participate in elective courses such as journalism, English Plus, and desktop publications. Students have the opportunity to study global languages such as Hindi, Urdu, Arabic, and Filipino. Please contact the individual school sites for specific course information.

British Division

Dhahran British Grammar School follows the National Curriculum of England. The school is organized into Foundation Stage and Key Stages 1, 2, 3, and 4. Children are class-based in Foundation Stage and Key Stages 1 and 2. Pupils are taught in specialist lessons in Key Stages 3 and 4. Specialist subjects including English, mathematics, science, design technology, information and communication technology, history, geography, art, music, physical education, business studies, French, Arabic and PSHE (personal, social and health education). KS4 pupils (Years 10 & 11) undertake an I/GCSE course of study leading to examinations in Year 11. Please contact the Dhahran British Grammar School office for further information.

International Primary Curriculum

ISG Jubail (Grades Pre-KG – 6) follows the International Primary Curriculum developed by Fieldwork, Ltd. from the United Kingdom. The IPC is an integrated thematic approach to international education that incorporates acquiring knowledge, acquiring abilities, and developing enhanced levels of understanding in a balanced primary education.
